Advice for families who are seeking an independent Assessment 

There are many services across the UK that offer Autism Assessments

For the assessment to follow best practice guidelines you should look for the following 

• Involvement of a paediatrician or psychiatrist?, speech and language therapist and/or clinical psychologist 
• The team to request information from  or to arrange observation of your child in their natural environment, ideally their school 
• Access to an Occupational Therapy assessment ( not essential )
• The final decision to be made by the assessment team
• Provision of a report and recommendations for support
